- Through this initiative, children engage in traditional theatre, performance arts, and cultural
craftsmanship to develop confidence, creativity, and communication skills. The program
emphasizes storytelling through visual and performance arts, including handmade crafts and

EmotiCraft: Nurturing Emotional Intelligence Through Art
Helping Children Understand and Express Their Emotions Creatively
EmotiCraft is a specialized sub-program under Thrent for Change that integrates emotional learning into artistic expression. It offers a safe, supportive space where children explore their feelings through drama, role-play, music, and drawing. By giving emotions color, shape, and movement, EmotiCraft helps children identify, name, and manage their emotions in healthy ways.
Facilitators trained in child development guide participants through exercises that build empathy, self-awareness, and resilience. Through group discussions, expressive performances, and guided reflections, children learn to navigate emotions such as anger, joy, sadness, and fear—skills that are essential for their mental well-being and social interaction.
EmotiCraft not only enhances emotional literacy but also strengthens the children’s ability to relate with others, resolve conflicts peacefully, and build self-esteem laying the foundation for holistic personal development.
Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response:
We work to combat GBV by educating communities on consent, gender equality, and women’s rights. Through community sensitization events, support groups, and survivor-centered referral pathways, we empower girls and women to speak up and seek justice. Our trained advocates and volunteers also facilitate healing spaces for survivors and lead campaigns to dismantle harmful gender norms.
SRHR Awareness and Advocacy:
We conduct comprehensive awareness sessions on menstrual health, puberty education, contraception, safe sex practices, and bodily autonomy. These sessions target adolescents, youth, and women through schools, community forums, and safe spaces, ensuring everyone has access to accurate and stigma-free information.
Environmental Awareness Campaigns:
We run regular clean-up drives, tree planting events, and workshops on waste segregation, plastic alternatives, and climate resilience. These campaigns target both youth and adults, encouraging community ownership in protecting their environment and adapting to the impacts of climate change.
Kitchen Garden Project:
Through small-scale organic gardening, especially for women-led households, we promote food security, nutrition, and eco-friendly practices. Participants are trained in composting, soil conservation, and water-smart agriculture, enabling them to grow their own vegetables while mitigating the impacts of climate change.
Youth-Led Forums and Storytelling Spaces:
By empowering youth as agents of peace, we support them in leading forums where they discuss social issues, share stories of resilience, and advocate for inclusive community decisions. These forums build leadership, civic engagement, and intergenerational understanding.
Sustainable Dialogue Platforms:
We organize structured forums that facilitate discussions between refugee and host community members on coexistence, conflict resolution, and mutual respect. These dialogues are ongoing and inclusive, fostering deeper trust and collaboration.
